Caroline Curtis
I have lived in Gretton for most of my life, except for a few years away as a young adult. Having been brought up in the village myself, I wanted my children to experience the same childhood as I did and benefit from our lovely preschool, primary school, and the vibrant, engaging community we are all lucky enough to live in.
Having engaged with various community activities when my children were younger, I have continued to do so as they have got older, specifically, being the Welfare Officer for Gretton Football Club, which I have done for many years now. This involves implementing safeguarding policies to ensure a safe, positive, and child-friendly environment for the children who are part of Gretton FC.
My professional life has been fully dedicated to Adult Social Care, working for many years as a Registered Manager at Gretton Homes and now as a Care Manager at Rutland County Council. I have worked with older children, younger and older adults with varying care and support needs, promoting, amongst other things, social and community integration and engagement. I feel strongly about advocating for individuals who have additional needs and benefit from having support to have their voice heard.
I see being involved with the Parish Council as an extension to what I already do, where I hope to interweave my current skill set as well as learn new ones supported by working in partnership with others.
