Notice of vacancy in the office of Councillor for Gretton Parish Council
I must give notice, under Section 87(2) of the Local Government Act 1972, that a vacancy exists in the office of Parish Councillor for Gretton Parish Council.
The vacancy has arisen due to the resignation of Andrew Page.
For a by-election to be held to fill the vacancy, a written request made by ten registered local government electors of Gretton Parish Council, must be submitted within 14 days of this notice (excluding Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays). Requests may be submitted by post or in person (via appointment) to:

If you require a template request form, please email the elections office at the email address above.
On receipt of a valid request, the Returning Officer will set the date of an election to be held within 60 days of this notice (excluding Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays), in accordance with Rule 5 of the Local Elections (Parishes and Communities) (England and Wales) Rules 2006.
If an election is not requested, the Parish Council will co-opt a person to fill the vacancy as soon as practicable.
